Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Stream Danmaku. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our browser extension and associated services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide you with the Stream Danmaku service. When you log in using your Google account via OAuth, we receive your basic profile information such as your Google ID, email address, name, and profile picture.

We do not collect or store your Netflix viewing history, passwords, or unrelated browsing activity. The extension only reads the current video ID on supported streaming platforms to synchronize danmaku comments.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used in the following ways:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

  • To authenticate your identity using Google OAuth.
  • To associate the danmaku you post with your account.
  • To maintain a secure and abuse-free community environment.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your authentication tokens and personal preferences may be stored locally on your device within the browser extension's secure, isolated storage environment or your browser's website storage. Danmaku comments you post are stored on our servers and associated with your unique account identifier.

After account deletion, we may retain the minimum necessary de-identified safety records for up to 90 days to prevent abuse, maintain service security, and avoid repeated benefit claims.

5. Cookies and Local Browser Storage

The Stream Danmaku website uses local storage to remember your theme and billing-cycle preferences, and session storage to keep your sign-in and checkout state during the current browser session. Depending on the item, this information remains until you clear your browser data or close the browser tab or session.

We do not use first-party cookies or browser storage for advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking. You can clear locally stored information through your browser settings, although doing so may reset your preferences or sign you out.

When you choose to open Paddle Checkout, Paddle may use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the checkout, prevent fraud, and, where applicable, provide optional features under its own privacy and cookie choices. For details, see Paddle’s Privacy Notice at https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy.

6. Third-Party Services

Our extension interacts with third-party streaming platforms like Netflix to display comments on top of their video players. We do not transmit your personal data from Stream Danmaku to these platforms.

We use Google OAuth to authenticate your account and Paddle to process purchases and subscriptions. Information handled by those services is also subject to their respective privacy policies.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that it be corrected, updated, or deleted. You can revoke our application's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account Permissions settings.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page.

9. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about our privacy practices, please contact us through the official support channels listed in the extension dashboard.
